Costa Rica
So far I’ve been in Costa for 6 days with www.realsurftrips.com and each one has been magical! I’ve completely immersed my self into this surreal life style of the “beach bum.” I’ve fallen in love with the vibe, the people, the beauty and simplicity of this place!
I’ve been able to surf every day, even if I wasn’t slaying the waves (more like they were slaying me) I’ve got to know the ocean better and am more comfortable each time I jump in!
The house I’m staying at is in beautiful beach community with everything you need. It’s a plush, brand new home with AC, a beautiful pool, internet, flat screen TV’s, and great people. Every night Anna cooks up elaborate, authentic Costa Rican meals, and keeps the place spick and spam.
In the mornings there is a place only 5 minutes walk where Rose teaches an incredible 90 minute yoga session right along the beach. It’s amazing to get a great yoga stretch and work out after being scrambled by the Playa Negra’s merciless waves.
In the afternoon’s I’ve been going on runs along the beach to Emancipator, with the combination of the cool breeze, the breath taking beach, and tranquil music I feel like I’m in a movie.
I was able to watch a surf competition with some new friends yesterday. Six of us piled into a little car and drove about 40 minutes to a stunning beach with world class waves. It was inspiring to watch people shred these massive waves so casually. One of my new friends Brian, born and raised in the small town of Playa Negra, is about to show me how it’s done! Wish me luck!
